The Seattle Kraken’s recent struggles continued Sunday night with a 3-1 loss to the Buffalo Sabres, who picked up their third straight win.

Kraken fans serenaded Seattle Mariners superstar catcher Cal Raleigh with an “MVP” chant during the Kraken’s 4-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday at Climate Pledge Arena.

In a surprising move on Sunday, the Vancouver Canucks elected to have Jake DeBrusk skate as an extra ahead of their Monday night matchup against the Seattle Kraken. DeBrusk skated on a line with Filip Chytil and David Kämpf, both of whom were also extras.

Two of the best Kraken players at their respective positions, Jared McCann and Vince Dunn, are set to return from injuries against the Flyers on Sunday night.

The Flyers had several power play chances against the NHL's worst penalty-kill, but could not get on the board until late in the game on a Carl Grundström goal.

Two teams at the bottom of the Western Conference standings take the ice when the 16th-place Vancouver Canucks (15-19-3) visit the 10th-place Seattle Kraken (16-14-6) at Climate Pledge Arena on Monday at 10 p.m. ET. Vancouver was handed a 6-3 loss at home its last time out on Dec. 27 against the San Jose Sharks.

Four Kraken prospects were selected to compete in World Juniors, while the rest are scattered between pro affiliates, various colleges and junior teams.
